Cape County Ambulance launches a CPR Campaign

Oct 09, 2012 -- 2:38pm

Sudden Cardiac Arrest is a leading cause of death in the US and 92-percent of victims die before reaching the hospital.  The Cape County Private Ambulance Service wants to lower the risk by teaching you hands free CPR.  The group has launched a campaign to train the public in compression only CPR which can double or triple the survival rate of someone who goes into cardiac arrest.  Field Supervisor Darick Day tells KZIM-KSIM it’s an easy process. Day adds you continue compressions until Emergency Medical Services Arrive.  Since 80-percent of SCA’s occur in the home this empowers the community to be prepared.  You can schedule a free presentation by calling 573-335-2191.
