TODAY'S GENIUS AWARD GOES TO . . . . . . .

    A 23-year-old man, who learned it's probably not a good idea to drive with your headlights off and your buddy in the trunk while your pot plants ride shotgun. Police pulled over the man driving without his headlights on and found a load of pot plants in the front and rear seats, and the driver's buddy in the trunk. No explanation was given for why the man was driving with his headlights off.

AND THEN THERE'S .....

    Rodney Watkins, 46, who was dumb enough to light his crack pipe while in police custody. Watkins presented false identification during a traffic stop and was arrested. After using the bathroom, police say Watkins pulled out a crack pipe and lighter and attempted to smoke the remaining crack. Watkins faces numerous charges, including theft, drug abuse, obstruction of official business and possession of illegal drug paraphernalia.

OR HOW 'BOUT .....

    33-year-old Douglas Yim, who shot and murdered his friend during an argument over the existence of God. Yim killed 25-year-old Dzuy Duhn Phan after a night of partying and playing video games. Another friend, testified the two men had engaged in a heated discussion about God. Yim shot Phan at least six times. Another friend was also hit by a bullet

OKAY, ONE MORE .....

    Malcolm Mitchell, a wide receiver for the Georgia Bulldogs, who will miss the remainder of the season after tearing his ACL during a touchdown celebration. Mitchell, the leading returning receiver for the No. 5 Bulldogs, hurt his knee when celebrating with a teammate following another teammate's touchdown run. Coach Mark Richt said Mitchell will have season-ending surgery in the near future.
