The Supreme Court of Missouri’s Committee on Civic Education and the state judiciary has announced a new competition! The Constitution Project is a statewide competition for high school students, in which they are given hands on experience in possible future careers integral to our constitution and our nation. The project will kick off on Constitution Day, September 17. Professionals in the fields of journalism, law enforcement, and trial advocacy will provide mentorship to the Missouri students in coordination with participating schools. The project places students in charge of investigating and reporting a mock crime in their town, following it from the initial crime scene through the ultimate prosecution of the crime in mock trial. The new Constitution Project webpage allows you to bring the project to your school! Visit courts.mo.gov/constitutionproject for more info!
