A man accused of burglary was back in court before Judge Benjamin Lewis Monday. 28-year old Steven Johnson of Cape Girardeau is facing charges involving burglaries that occurred in Cape Girardeau in addition to those in the county. Johnson allegedly committed the crimes with 24-year old Xavier Canada of Cape Girardeau and 31-year old Marcus A. Canada, from Marked Tree, AR. In May, the Cape Girardeau Police Department released surveillance photos in regards to a burglary that occurred in the 2000 block of West Cape Rock.  Detectives from the Cape Girardeau County Sheriffs Office were investigating a burglary that occurred in the county. Police Department investigators assisted and the cooperative efforts of the two departments led to the identification of the persons in the surveillance photos.  Cape Officers conducted searches at two residences in Cape Girardeau where stolen merchandise along with two firearms were recovered.  Judge Albert Kamp found that there was probable cause that Canada committed the crime at his arraignment in June. Johnson plead not guilty to the charges in August. Xavier Canada is charged with class C Felony burglary in the second degree with a $20,000 bond.  Marcus A. Canada is charged with class C felony unlawful possession of a concealable firearm with a $15,000 bond.  Steven R. Johnson is charged with class C felony of unlawful possession of a firearm with a $25,000 bond.  Johnson is scheduled to be back in court for a Case Review on September 9th.
