One of the three men arrested for the murder of 33-year-old Rodney Maxwell on May 10 was back in court. 36-year-old Kevin T. Tilson of Caruthersville is charged with murder in the 1st degree and armed criminal action, and continues to be held in the Pemiscot County Jail without bond. Tilson is charged along with 27-year-old Frank Rogers, Jr.,of Caruthersville and 21-year-old Dedrick F. Tilson of Hot Springs, Ark. Tilson had a Preliminary Hearing before Judge Keith Currie Tuesday. According to local authorities in Caruthersville, officers were called to the 300 block of East Seventh Street in reference to a car wreck. When they arrived on scene, they discovered a black man unresponsive in the driver seat with a single gunshot wound. Maxwell was taken to Pemiscot Memorial Hospital by ambulance, where he later died. Following extensive investigation by the Caruthersville Police Department, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department, and the Hayti Police Department, officers were able to gather enough information and leads in the investigation to arrest the three men. Tilson is scheduled to be back in court on October 22nd.
