Unclaimed military medals are the focus of a new state law. The Missouri state treasurer hopes some online assistance will help his office track down the rightful owners or family heirs of more than 120 abandoned military medals. Treasurer Clint Zweifel (ZWY-fuhl) began promoting on Wednesday a new state law that allows him to publicly share the names, last known addresses and other identifying information of possible medal owners. The unclaimed property includes three Purple Heart medals, one of the highest military honors. Details about the unclaimed medals can be found online at treasurer.mo.gov/Military.
