Fireworks can be mistaken for the sound of gunfire… In Charleston – it WAS gunfire! Police are searching for a man accused of shooting another man and his son after an argument over fireworks. It happened around 5:00 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Ironbanks and Swank streets. A 39 year-old Charleston man was seriously injured. He and his 10 year-old son were injured and taken to the hospital for treatment. The boy is in stable condition. Police are looking for Mark S. Mowery. He is described as black, about six feet tall and about 150 pounds. He was last seen driving a two-tone green over gray 1997 Chevy S10 pick-up truck with the license plate number 2CA303. He should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to call the Charleston Department of Public Safety.
