Local college students earned awards last month at a national competition

Southeast Missouri State University students from our local area brought home national awards from the Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) National Leadership Conference June 22-25 in Anaheim, California.  The Zeta Alpha Lambda Chapter from Southeast sent 13 students to compete in 25 individual events and two team events. Accounting major Justin Bader of Jackson, earned first place in Sports Management and Marketing, and Marketing Management major Josh James, also of Jackson, earned third place in Management Concepts.  Individuals, state teams and local chapters were encouraged to compete in any of the more than 50 different events representing a range of activities and the business and leadership development focus of FBLA-PBL. The winners were selected from the membership of 250,000 students and advisors.  For more information, visit
