Cybersecurity Students Win State

Mar 20, 2013 -- 8:00pm

The Cyber Defense Club at Southeast Missouri State University competed in the Missouri Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition on Saturday, and they have taken first place!  Eight Southeast students majoring in cyber-security participated in the all-day virtual state competition where the tech-savvy students built and defended their mock business from professional “hackers” who were given the challenge to take each team’s systems offline and breach their security.  The team now advances to the 2013 Midwest Regional Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition this weekend at Moraine Valley Community College this Friday and Saturday in Palos Hills, Illinois.
