TODAY'S GENIUS AWARD GOES TO . . . . . . .

Elaine Cook, 51, who got into an argument on Valentine's Day and ended up biting off her boyfriend's tongue. The boyfriend wanted to end the argument and tried to leave Cook with a goodbye kiss. That's when prosecutors said she bit off a "large" piece of his tongue. Her boyfriend brought what was left of his tongue to the hospital, but doctors were unable to reattach it. Cook was charged with aggravated domestic battery.

AND THEN THERE'S .....

Carron Washington, 20, who fed his baby daughter bleach because he heard it could help with the baby's congestion. Washington admitted to putting bleach in the child's bottle, saying he heard from a friend in school that it works as a medical cure. He said he mixed less than a cap-full of bleach with less than two ounces of formula. He said, "This would probably be the dumbest decision I ever made in my life, and I regret it 110 percent." The child's mother went into the child's room after she heard her crying, and the child spit up a clear liquid that smelled like bleach. She called 911, and the child was taken to the hospital.

OR HOW 'BOUT .....

An unidentified teacher in Linden, California, with 30 years of experience, who was caught on video stealing from the backpacks of some of her students. The actions were captured on video from a phone that four students hid in a locker. The teacher was put on administrative leave after the cell-phone video was shown to the principal.

OKAY, ONE MORE .....

Amy Conway O'Brien, 24, who accidentally drove her car out on a frozen lake and had to be rescued when the car fell through the ice. O'Brien said she drove her car through one of her neighbor's backyards before ending up on the ice. She thought she was still on the road, but quickly realized she wasn't and tried driving across the lake and panicked. Three rescuers in wet suits dragged a rope out to the woman and safely brought her to shore. She was uninjured, but quite shaken up.
