More than 26-hundred volunteers gathered in the Osage Center with La Croix Church between Saturday and Sunday to once again pack food for “Feed My Starving Children”. This is the fourth year and fifth packing event for the not-for-profit group aimed at feeding children in third world countries who otherwise may not eat. Meals are shipped to nearly 70 countries. In Cape Girardeau volunteers ranging from kindergarten to senior citizen showed their support. Coordinator Linda Watts tells KZIM-KSIM people know the positive impact of the program. This year the group packed 520,992 meals. That will feed 14-hundred children once a day for an entire year. All meals are paid for by a special offering collected on Christmas Eve.
