It’s telethon time in Sikeston!

360 kids from the region and 15 area schools benefit from the free services provided by the Kenny Rogers Children Center in Sikeston. Executive Director Michelle Fayette says free to the kids but takes a good amount of money to maintain. Plus they are focusing on adding another 7-thousand square feet to the facility with more parking soon as they are bursting at the seams since the last renovation in 1997. She tells KZIM KSIM kids with special physical, occupational, and speech needs are counting on you to participate in this year’s expanded telethon celebration. Pancake breakfast, a run/walk, a blood drive, a cute kids contest, easter pictures, and a dog show! Telethon IDOL Saturday has 10 finalists on stage performing. PLUS Keni Thomas and Cornbread will perform. Fayette says they have a goal of 500-thousand dollars for the “Lights Camera Action” themed event! Raising just over 300-thousand last year. Remember over 100 kids remain on a waiting list for treatment. They also need volunteers and fundraising ideas. Call 573-470-0397 Ext. 207. The 30th annual KRCC telethon is the 20th and 21st.
